The contact name is displayed upon entry of a vendor code, as long as a
primary sales contact exists (or a returns contact for credit purchase orders)
in the vendor record of the Vendor Maintenance program in Primary File
Administration. If the contact is not displayed, or if this is a miscellaneous
vendor, enter up to 30 characters for the contact name, or you can choose
from any of the contacts for this vendor in Vendor Maintenance. Using the
Vendor Maintenance program, you can establish any number of contacts for
each vendor on your system. Refer to the Primary File Administration
manual for more information about vendor records.
If the person you spoke with was not the primary sales contact for the
selected vendor, you can choose from the existing contacts for the vendor by
pressing <Prompt> (PF2) in the Contact field. The Vendor Contact
Selection window opens, listing all contacts for the selected vendor. For each
contact, the contact name and contact type are displayed, as well as an
indication of whether each contact is the primary contact. For instance, if
two billing contacts are listed, the one who is the primary billing contact is
displayed a Yfor yes in the Primary column, and the other is displayed an N.
Ship To
If the items you are purchasing are to be shipped to an address other than
the address of your location, you can enter that address in the Ship to field.
This is especially useful for drop shipment purchase orders, which are
delivered directly to one of your customers, as well as, for reload purchase
orders. This address prints on the purchase order so that the vendor will
deliver the merchandise directly to that address.
