Purchase Order Creation Procedure

The procedure for creating purchase orders from order information involves

the following phases, using the Create Purchase Order from Order program:

•

Choose the criteria for selection of the orders to work with.

•

Select the order lines to place on purchase order.

•

Display and edit purchase order lines.

•

Create purchase orders for the lines you have selected.

After choosing the criteria for selection of the order lines to work with, use

one of two procedures for performing the remaining phases of this process.

One method is to be very selective in choosing the order lines to place on

purchase order from those that display, and then create purchase orders

from those lines. Another method is to create a purchase order list that

includes all the order lines that meet your criteria, and perform the selection

process using that list, omitting the ones you don't want to place on purchase

order.

Once purchase orders have been created using this program, you can

maintain them in the same manner as any other purchase order on your

system.
