Omit Item Feature

Use the Omit Item feature to omit purchase order lines from the purchase

order list. This feature is beneficial if, after choosing your order selection

criteria, selecting the desired lines, and creating your purchase order list,

there are still items that you don't want to place on purchase order. For

example, assume you have chosen all the Ready lines for purchase order

creation. After sorting the lines by vendor, you notice that only one item is to

be purchased from a particular vendor. You may decide to omit this line and

wait until you have additional lines to be purchased from that vendor.

When a purchase order line is omitted using this feature, it is not deleted.

The order records the purchase order line was derived from remain on your

system, and the item can be placed on a different purchase order later. To

use this feature, select Omit Item from the Change pull-down menu after

selecting the purchase order line to omit. The selected line is automatically

erased from the list.

Order Line Inquiry

An Order Line Inquiry is available in the Create Purchase Order from Order

program, allowing you to view information about a purchase order line and

the orders it originated from before actually creating the purchase order. It

opens by selecting the Order Details option from the Inquiry pull-down

menu. To use this option, you must first select the purchase order line to

inquire on.
