You may decide not to enter anticipated purchases, desiring instead to
calculate cost group breaks when the purchase order is completed. If items
on the purchase order are included in cost groups, the appropriate costs can
be calculated by recosting the purchase order using one of the two cost
group recost options. The disadvantage of this method is that you will not
know the true costs of the items until this is done.
If you delete a purchase order line containing an item included in a cost
group break, the costs of other items in the group may be affected. Use one
of the cost group recost options to recost the items on the purchase order
after deleting such an item.
When you select Enter anticipated cost group purchases... from the
Functions pull-down menu on the Purchase Order Header or Totals screens,
the Anticipated Cost Group Purchases Entry window opens.
From the Purchase Order Lines screen, you must first select Cost group
purchases... from the Functions pull-down menu. This opens the Cost
Group Purchases menu from which you can choose to enter anticipated
purchases, or choose from two options for recosting the cost group purchases
on your purchase order. The two recost options are used to recost the items
on this purchase order according to cost group purchases. One also allows
you to update the anticipated purchases you have entered to reflect actual
purchases. They are discussed later in this section.
